Metal Falls from AT&T Stadium Roof Before Texans-Cowboys Game: Fans Alarmed

Just a few hours prior to the Monday night showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans, several pieces of debris including a metal chunk were seen falling out of the AT&T Stadium’s roof as it was being closed.

There were no casualties, and the canopy which was previously opened was subsequently closed and is expected to remain that way for the duration of the game.

“The Cowboys recognize there was a mechanism that detached and fell on the playing surface (with additional small items) while the roof was being retracted,” they explained. “We don’t have any injuries reported. It is now being assessed and a ruling will be issued whether or not the roof can be opened again under safe conditions.”

AT&T Stadium, an indoor arena with a folding roof located in Arlington, Texas has been home to the Cownboys since the very first construction works took place which was around spring in the year 2009.

Since the owner of the arena is called Jerry Jones, the stadium is popularly referred to as Jerry World. The AT&T Stadium has the capacity of 80000 for a football game.

The game between the Texans (6-4) and the Cowboys (3-6) is set to start at 8:15 p.m. ET.
